AFTER CONTRACT IS ACCEPTED...

It is important that you are familiar with your contract. Each contract varies according to the property and terms. This is a sample list of some of the items you may attend to during the escrow period.


  • COMPLETE LOAN APPROVAL PROCESS
    Arrange an "interest lock-date" if necessary

  • HAVE NECESSARY INSPECTIONS DONE
    Check city/County records, if desired

  • REVIEW, SIGN AND RETURN ESCROW PAPERWORK
    This should be done on a timely basis with little delay

  • REVIEW CONTRACT CONTINGENCIES
    They will specify your time frames to satisfy yourself on each potential item

  • SECURE PROPERTY INSURANCE

ONCE YOUR LOAN HAS BEEN APPROVED;

  • Set a time for a walk-through inspection, if necessary.

  • Arrange date and time to sign your loan documents through escrow.

  • Verify the amount of money you will need to bring into escrow to close. AND THE TYPES OF CHECKS THAT ARE ACCEPTABLE!

  • Call the utility companies to have the services changed into your name at a mutually agreed upon time with the seller.

  • Verify where house, association, mailbox keys and any other openers will be left.
